Pertti Sveholm, 2 Aralık 1953 tarihinde Finlandiya’nın Oulu şehrinde dünyaya gelmiştir. Sinema alanındaki bilinirliğini özellikle Presidentin kyyditys filmindeki çalışmalarıyla artırmıştır.
